The Nurse Trainer is a licensed Registered Nurse with knowledge and experience of nursing practice laws, rules, regulations and scope of practice needed to educate Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) and nursing staff. Assigned duties are performed under the supervision of Nurse Manager. The Nurse Trainer primarily performs their responsibilities in office setting and in-person at Sanitas’ facilities when needed, with focus on upholding quality patient care through safe and quality training.

- Perform training (onboarding, refreshers, workshops) for new and established staff to maintain and identify core competencies
- Maintain and monitor the delivery and effectiveness of the training
- Collaborate with clinical leadership to identify training needs
- Assist with audit team results, identify gaps in training and implement improvements in training programs
- Review and recommend updates to policies and procedures
- Periodic reporting to Nursing Department of assigned tasks
- Periodic meetings with nursing staff and nursing management
- Serve as a communication liaison between Clinical Care Assistants /nursing staff and administration.
- Assist with organizing clinical workflows to promote a unified policy compliance
- Serve as support with performing 90 Day & Yearly clinical evaluations of Clinical Care Assistants and nurses
- Support candidate interview process as organized by Clinical Nurse Manager
- Must have leadership qualities and work independently
- Ability to think on their feet to solve training and workflow related problems presented by staff
- Must be detail-oriented and proficient in Microsoft Excel to ensure accuracy of reports and data
- Knowledge of all nursing programs, inventory management, and primary care/urgent care services.
- Profound Knowledge of Sanitas Policies and Procedures that pertain to the function and duties of the staff.
- Must portray excellent interpersonal and listening skills
- Maintain standards for professional nursing practice
- Must always be able to maintain patient confidentiality
- Must always have excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish
- This position requires travel to Sanitas facilities to perform related activities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to work standing up, walk, use hands to operate tools and equipment and must be able to exert regularly up to 10 pounds of force, frequently exert 30 pounds of force and occasionally exert 50 pounds of force to constantly perform the essential job functions. The employee will be frequently required to reach with hands and arms, bend, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, and pull. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee is subject to environmental conditions; protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The worker is subject to noise; there may be sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
Required Education and Experience- Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing, ASN
- Active and clear State Registered Nurse License
- 2 years outpatient primary care and or urgent care experience
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR), eClinicalWorks
- CPR-BLS Required
- Bachelor of Nursing preferred
- ACLS preferred
- Experience in training and education
